Destination

African Safari

Big skies, golden grass, private guides.

Safari is the trip where the operator matters more than the destination. The wrong camp with the wrong guide turns a $20,000 trip into a long, dusty bus tour. I only book the camps I'd send my own family to, and I know which guides are worth requesting by name.

Best time to go
June to October is dry season with the best wildlife viewing. July to August is peak Great Migration in the Masai Mara.
Ideal for
Once-in-a-lifetime travelers, photographers, milestone anniversaries, families with older kids, multi-generation bucket-list trips.

What I plan

  • Kenya and Tanzania Great Migration camps with private 4x4 vehicles
  • Botswana Okavango Delta water safaris by mokoro canoe
  • South Africa Cape Town plus private game reserve combinations
  • Add-on Victoria Falls extensions on the Zambia or Zimbabwe side
  • Zanzibar or Mauritius beach extensions to decompress after safari
  • Private bush dinners under the stars, hot-air balloon sunrises

Sample itinerary

A starting point. Every day bends to you.

  1. Days 1–2 · Nairobi

Arrive, overnight at Giraffe Manor, brief on the next 10 days.

  2. Days 3–5 · Masai Mara

Private tented camp, two game drives daily, balloon sunrise.

  3. Days 6–8 · Serengeti

Charter flight south, river-crossing camp during the Migration window.

  4. Days 9–10 · Ngorongoro Crater

Crater rim lodge, full-day game drive on the crater floor.

  5. Days 11–13 · Zanzibar

Fly to the coast, beachfront villa, slow decompress before flying home.

Good to know

  • Book 9–12 months ahead, the best camps fill early, especially in Migration season.
  • Yellow fever vaccination and visas required for most routes; I'll walk you through it.
  • Soft, neutral-colored clothing only, I'll send a full packing list.

Don't shop safaris on price alone. The difference between a $600/night camp and an $1,800/night camp is the difference between watching wildlife from a crowded road and watching it alone with a private guide who knows that pride of lions by name.
