What a travel advisor actually does (and why it doesn't cost you more)

The number-one question I get from new clients is: what do you actually do, and how much does it cost? Fair question. Here is the honest answer.

What I do

  • Listen to what you actually want, not what a sales agent thinks you want.
  • Match you to the right hotel, ship, lodge, or itinerary out of hundreds I've personally vetted.
  • Book everything and act as the single point of contact if anything goes sideways.
  • Layer in perks, room upgrades, resort credits, early embarkation, private transfers, through my supplier relationships.

What it costs

For most leisure trips, nothing. I'm paid a commission by the hotel, cruise line, or tour operator at the same rate whether you book through me or directly. The rate you see online is the rate you get with me, plus the perks.

When I do charge a fee

Complex multi-country trips with a lot of moving parts (think: 14 days, four countries, six hotels, custom drivers) sometimes carry a planning fee. I tell you upfront, in writing, before any work starts.
